BBTech Warehouse Summer Internship Experience
During the summer of 2026, I worked as an interpreter for BBTech America, supporting a large-scale semiconductor construction project in Central Texas. I came into this internship expecting to learn how a major construction and manufacturing project operates day to day, and I leave with a far more detailed understanding than I expected. Being in the field every day gave me the opportunity to see firsthand how communication, quality, logistics, and teamwork all come together on a project of this scale.
My core responsibility was supporting daily quality control inspections and facilitating real-time communication between Korean-speaking foremen and welders and English-speaking inspectors. This often meant helping both sides clearly understand technical information, inspection requirements, and supporting documentation so that work could continue efficiently and everyone involved could communicate effectively.
Beyond inspections, I also supported a significant portion of our vendor and supply chain communication. I coordinated with suppliers regarding material deliveries, equipment maintenance, repairs, and other logistical needs. These responsibilities gave me valuable experience communicating with outside vendors and helping ensure that important operational needs were addressed in a timely manner.
I also had the opportunity to contribute to several internal process improvements. I helped rebuild and maintain our tool inventory tracking system in Excel, improving its organization and reliability so the team could more easily access accurate information. In addition, I organized vendor contact information and other resources to help support a smooth transition for future team members.
One part of the job I didn't expect going into the internship was how much of it involved directly supporting our field team beyond day-to-day work responsibilities. I helped newly arrived team members navigate everyday logistics and adjust to living and working in the United States, including coordinating practical needs such as utilities, internet service, appointments, and other essential tasks. This gave me a much fuller picture of what it takes to support a team working on a large and demanding project.
I also want to thank the colleagues I worked alongside throughout the summer. They were patient with my questions, trusted me with meaningful responsibilities, and made the day-to-day work genuinely collaborative rather than just transactional. Their support gave me the confidence to take on new challenges and learn from situations I would not have experienced in a classroom.
As I head into college this fall, I'm taking with me a much sharper understanding of how technical teams, vendors, and people from different backgrounds must work together to successfully complete a project of this scale. This internship showed me the importance of clear communication, adaptability, teamwork, and taking responsibility when challenges arise.
I'm grateful to BBTech America and the team for the trust they placed in me this summer and for everything I had the opportunity to learn and be part of. It was an experience that gave me valuable professional skills and a new perspective that I will carry with me as I begin the next chapter of my education.
