Welder
Position Overview
BBTECH America is seeking an experienced Welder with strong TIG and/or orbital welding capabilities to support cleanroom and high-purity fabrication activities for advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This position focuses on precision welding of stainless steel and thin-gauge materials while meeting strict cleanliness, tolerance, and quality requirements.
The Welder will work closely with pipefitters, sheet metal technicians, QA/QC, and supervision to ensure welds meet project specifications, industry codes, and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform TIG and/or orbital welding on stainless steel, thin-gauge metals, and related materials used in cleanroom and process systems
Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment in accordance with approved welding procedures and job requirements
Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, cleaning, tacking, and aligning components to ensure accurate fit-up
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, shop drawings, and work orders to meet dimensional and tolerance requirements
Execute welds to close tolerances and quality standards required for high-purity or controlled environments
Support fabrication of assemblies requiring multiple components and precise sequencing
Perform visual inspections of completed welds and address deficiencies as required
Maintain proper documentation related to weld activities when required by project scope
Coordinate work activities with other trades and team members to maintain workflow efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with cleanroom and site standards
Follow all BBTECH America, client, and site-specific safety procedures, including PPE and cleanroom protocols
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and quality reviews as required
Required Qualifications
Authorized to work in the United States
Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on welding experience, with emphasis on TIG welding
Demonstrated experience welding stainless steel and thin-gauge materials
Ability to read and understand blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
Familiarity with welding to tight tolerances and quality-critical applications
Basic math skills for measurements, tolerances, and fabrication calculations
Proficient with common welding and fabrication tools (calipers, clamps, grinders, measuring tools)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
OSHA 10 certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-purity environments
Orbital welding experience or prior exposure to orbital welding systems
Familiarity with stainless steel metallurgy and welding best practices
AWS or equivalent welding certifications
Ability to assist or mentor junior welders
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in varied positions throughout the workday
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity to operate welding equipment and hand tools safely
Visual acuity sufficient for close-up work, depth perception, and weld inspection
Work performed in fabrication areas, active construction zones, and cleanroom environments
Frequent exposure to welding equipment, tools, and moderate to loud noise levels
Use of required PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, safety gear, and cleanroom garments as applicable
Compensation and Schedule
Location: Taylor, TX
Job Type: Full-Time, In Person
Schedule: Typically, Monday-Friday; overtime and weekends as required
