Sheet Metal Technician
Position Summary
BBTECH America is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Technicians to support cleanroom and sub-fab construction activities within advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for the fabrication, installation, and modification of sheet metal systems that support cleanroom airflow, exhaust, and equipment integration while meeting strict cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
Sheet Metal Technicians will work closely with foremen, engineers, QA/QC, and safety teams to ensure all installations comply with project specifications, cleanroom protocols, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components such as ductwork, plenums, enclosures, and equipment interfaces
Perform precise layout and measurement based on drawings, field conditions, and installation tolerances
Interpret and execute work from shop drawings, coordination drawings, and design details
Install supports, hangers, seismic bracing, and access panels per project and code requirements
Seal joints and penetrations to maintain cleanroom airflow control and pressure integrity
Modify and adjust existing ductwork or sheet metal assemblies to accommodate field conditions or design changes
Maintain proper handling and cleanliness of materials to meet cleanroom contamination control standards
Coordinate work activities with piping, mechanical, electrical, and tool-installation teams
Assist with system inspections, airflow verification support, and punch-list completion
Maintain clean, organized work areas in compliance with cleanroom and site requirements
Follow all BBTECH America, client, and site-specific safety procedures, including PPE and cleanroom gowning
Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and permit-controlled work processes
Required Qualifications
Authorized to work in the United States
Minimum 1-2 years of sheet metal experience in commercial, industrial, or cleanroom environments
Ability to read and interpret drawings, shop details, and installation plans
Proficiency with hand and power tools used in sheet metal fabrication and installation
Knowledge of duct installation methods, supports, and fastening systems
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
OSHA 10 certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in semiconductor cleanrooms or controlled environments
Familiarity with cleanroom HVAC systems, FFUs, and airflow management concepts
Experience with stainless steel or aluminum sheet metal in high-purity applications
NCCER or equivalent trade certification
Ability to work extended hours or weekends during critical installation phases
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work performed in active cleanrooms, sub-fabs, and construction areas
Frequent use of cleanroom PPE, including bunny suits, gloves, face coverings, and safety equipment
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces
Must be able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to construction-related noise, overhead work, and varying site conditions
Compensation and Schedule
Location: Taylor, TX
Job Type: Full-Time, In Person
Schedule: Typically, Monday-Friday; overtime and weekends as required
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
